First step in Achilles accreditation further demonstrates Maple’s commitment to HSEQ

Maple have achieved Achilles BuildingConfidence Advanced membership – an important mark of quality for potential buyers.

By completing the first stage of accreditation, we’re demonstrating compliance and improvement against a range of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality standards.

Membership of the BuildingConfidence community will give other companies clear visibility of our capabilities. But it will also strengthen our already safe and compliant internal processes. In fact, employees at Achilles-accredited companies are 40% less likely to have an accident at work than the national average.

Maple’s HSEQ Manager, Mark Simpson, said: “Our road map towards a fully integrated HSEQ management system is already well advanced, and is having a big impact across all areas of our business. This is another important milestone.”

The next step in our Achilles accreditation process is a rigorous two-day audit in December, which will measure capability, competence and compliance across a number of operational areas.

It will also help identify potential areas for improvement and risk reduction and, ultimately, provide customers with standardised performance criteria.

Mark added: “We’re looking forward to the audit, which is another step in Maple’s strategy of promoting sensible, controlled and sustainable growth in a way that doesn’t compromise quality or put people or the environment at risk.”
